To Do: Cape Cod Baseball League
UPDATED FOR 2021 – Looking for something to do on a beautiful summer evening? Cheer on your local baseball team. The Cape League is a true local treasure with future Major League players honing their skills on ballfields throughout the Cape. The atmosphere is relaxed, family-friendly, and every game feels like a slice of small town Americana. The Cape league has a big reputation for excellence. “The 10 teams of the Cape Cod Baseball League play in low-key neighborhood parks: an archipelago of pristine fields, perfect for showcasing top talent from college powerhouses across the country,” wrote David La Spina in The New York Times. “You can watch a game from the brim of a grassy knoll and have no signs of commercialization within your sight line. Instead of walk-up music, wooden bats are the only sound that you hear, cracking as dusk overtakes the game.”
Cape League fans get to enjoy top level baseball in each of the league’s ten intimate ballparks and, best of all, admission is free.
The Cape Cod Baseball League
According to the Boston Globe there are hundreds of Cape Cod League alums playing in Major League Baseball annually, and more than a thousand former Cape Leaguers who have appeared in at least one big-league game. Look around during the game and you might see some big league scouts who’ve come to check out our local talent.
There are ten teams stretched across the Cape from Wareham to Orleans, so no matter where you are on the Cape, you aren’t far from enjoying a terrific game all summer long.

The Wareham Gatemen

The Cotuit Kettleers
The Kettleers play at Lowell Park, which is located at 10 Lowell Avenue in Cotuit. Check their site for their local schedule.
