The leaves are changing, candy corn is back on store shelves, warm apple pies are baking in the oven. Fall is here! As the days get shorter, you should consider home maintenance projects to help prepare you for the cooler temperatures.

T – Tackle your Tree Care
Properly preparing your trees for winter requires work. Jim Skiera, former Executive Director of the International Society of Arboriculture, says “If you take care of your trees in the winter, you’ll be rewarded in the spring.” Proper care includes spreading mulch under your trees and watering during cool periods.
Be sure, also, to trim back any branches or limbs that may break off during a winter storm.
The best time to plant new trees is fall. After cooler weather has set in, conditions are perfect for stimulating root growth.
